The Lamborghini Urus, the carmaker’s highly-anticipated luxury SUV, first made its debut in concept form at the Beijing International Auto Show in 2012 already.

Over the last 5 years, there have been no shortage of rumors, spy photos and teasers of Lamborghini’s upcoming SUV, but the wait will finally be over. Lamborghini has confirmed the release date for the Urus, the manufacturer’s brand-new SUV, for December 4th 2017 in Sant’Agata Bolognese, where the company’s headquarters are located.

The SUV market is one of the fastest growing and most popular markets worldwide. The Urus marks a new era of manufacturing for the Italian car manufacturer and follows similar moves from other luxury car manufacturers. Think Porsche Cayenne, Jaguar E-Pace and recently the Bentley Bentayga amongst others.

Details about the upcoming SUV are still very limited, with Lamborghini doing a great job keeping it under wraps. All we know at this stage is that the brand-new SUV will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, which should generate somewhere around 485 kW according to an earlier press release.
