It is no surprise that these types are vehicles are being pumped out at such a pace, as the B-segment crossover / compact SUV is one of Europe’s newest and fastest-growing vehicle segments. Nissan was spot-on in capturing the millennial market with its Juke and since then, similar crossover vehicles have seen the light in droves in all shapes and forms. Think: Toyota C-HR, Mazda CX-3 as well as recently released Hyundai Kona.

Compared to the Nissan Juke and the Toyota C-HR, the South Korean offerings is perhaps less polarizing since it has a more conventional design language and doesn’t have all of the peculiar shapes and angles found on its two Japanese competitors.

The Kia Stonic is an eye-catching and confident compact crossover, and is set to become an important model for Kia in one the newest and fastest-growing vehicle segments. The B-segment SUV currently accounts for 1.1 million new car sales in Europe each year – around 7% of the market – and is forecast to expand to more than two million annual sales by 2020.

The design of the car is arguably one of the brand’s most striking to date, yet it is immediately recognisable as a Kia thanks to key signature design elements, such as the ‘tiger-nose’ grille. Customization is important to many customers in the B-SUV segment and Kia’s new Stonic will be the most customisable Kia vehicle ever, inside and out. The Stonic’s ‘Targa’-style roof enables buyers to choose a two-tone paint finish, inspired by the design of the 2013 Kia Provo concept. It will be available in up to 20 two-tone colour combinations, with a choice of five distinctive colours for the roof.
