Most Dangerous Roads in South Africa

It is no secret that South Africa has some of the most dangerous roads in the world according to annual road traffic death figures.

It is very depressing to think that approximately 14000 people dies each year on South Africa’s roads, and there is no sign that these figures would decrease in the near future.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) recently released a list of the most dangerous roads in South Africa, and with it being long-weekend and all, we thought it might be a good idea to publish these. To prevent becoming a statistic, you better steer clear of these roads as far as possible!

According to the RTMC driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to wear seat-belt, using cell-phones while driving, excessive speeding, disregarding road conditions and signs are some of the driving behavior that contributes to the high deaths tolls on SA roads. It is said that most fatal crashes occur in the evening between 19:00 and 22:00 in the evenings.
