Daihatsu’s 5 Exhibition Vehicles

Daihatsu Motor will exhibit five super-cute retro’ish’ vehicles at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The Japansese carmaker will also showcase one vehicle that is scheduled for release at a later date, as well as ten commercially available vehicles.

The theme for Daihatsu’s exhibition at this year’s 45th Tokyo motor show will be the new group slogan, ‘Light you up’ which was newly updated in March 2017 to mark the company’s 110th anniversary. The five exhibition vehicles were developed against the backdrop of a variety of familiar societal problems and environmental changes, including an aging society and diversifying working styles.

Of the five concept vehicles Daihatsu will be exhibiting, two are mini vehicles and three are compact cars that envision the company’s future line-up. They are developments and evolutions of the company’s Monodukuri technologies and ideas for high-quality vehicles at reasonable prices, which have already been incorporated into the company’s existing mini vehicles and compact cars.

Diahatsu Concept Cars
A retro compact four-door coupe that inherits the stylish approach to design of the original Compagno, which was released in 1963. Targeted at active seniors who like to enjoy individual lifestyles, this cute vehicle prioritizes the comfort of the front occupants, which it combines with a high-quality interior.

Going forward, Daihatsu will strive to make advanced technologies available to everyone, provide bright and shining lifestyles to its customers, and aim to develop even higher-quality vehicles at more affordable prices based on the realization of its Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA).

Even though new Daihutsu vehicles are no longer sold in South Africa, there are still some good 2nd-hand Daihatsu vehicle options available.
