Do I have to register to make use of

No, you do not need to register to use our search area and to browse vehicle listings. However, to create your own free listing or to get notified of vehicles you might be interested in, you need to register to the website. Registration takes less than a minute, or you may also make use of your existing Facebook account to register / logon to Drive It!

What does registration involve?

Very simple! We’ll just ask for your user name and email address and you will be sent your password via e-mail. You will have to agree to our Terms and Conditions when you register. You may change your password on your ‘User profile’ once you are logged in.

(Please be assured that will not share your email address or send you emails unless you specifically request that we do so.)

Is my user profile open to public viewing?

No, by default it is not visible, but you can opt to make your user profile open to public viewing. By default the user profiles on our website are hidden and users who have active vehicle listings are contacted via a secure contact form which does not display their e-mail address or other particulars.

How much does it cost to register at

It is FREE! You may create your own standard vehicle listing including 3x pictures at absolutely no charge at all. We do however offer some additional features that users may opt to purchase should they be interested in upgrading their listings.

How do I create my free listing on

Visit and follow the ‘Create Free listing!’ link to create your free vehicle advertisement online. Register to the website, and wait for your password to arrive in your mailbox. Now, login with your new password, then click on ‘Submit New’ button on the top right of the dashboard. (You can also click on ‘Next’ if you want to view the short introduction or just ‘Skip intro’).
Fill in all the submission fields as well as your detailed vehicle description and then click on ‘Submit for review’ Reviews usually takes less than an hour where after your advert will be published online.
Some Tips:
Provide as much detail as well as photographs about the vehicle for sale as possible. Online buyers usually associate a lot of information with trust and your advert will create a sale a lot quicker. Also, be sure to price your vehicle right – have a look at similar vehicles with similar mileage and condition on our website or other vehicle classifieds to provide you with an indicative price range before you create your listing.
You may also make changes to your advert once published, if you would like to add some details or perhaps reconsider the price.

How do I make changes to my existing listing?

Visit and login with your e-mail address and password. Go to the ‘Your submissions’ list and click on ‘Edit’ and follow the simple steps to amend an existing listing. The listing will then be reviewed and published again by our admin staff.

What additional features are available to upgrade my standard listing?

At a minor fee, standard listings could be upgraded to include more photos (Up to 15 per vehicle); or other documents such as PDF’s, MS Word, Excel, Video clips etc.
Listings can also be upgraded to include more Keywords / Tags (Up to 100 additional tags) to make your ad more searchable in our database, or make a ‘Featured’ listing that is shown at the top of our search results if it is relevant to a particular vehicle search that is being conducted.
Other upgrades include the addition of a ‘custom Pin’ that could include your logo or other picture that stands out more when a user conducts a map search, or more ‘custom fields’ can be added to a listing to create a more detailed and organized listing.

What is a 'Featured Listing'?

A Featured listing is a ‘preferred’ listing that appears at the top of our search results if it is relevant to a particular vehicle search that is being conducted.
Featured listings also have a blue ribbon at the top of the listing picture that highlights the vehicle for sale most closely representing a user’s search criteria. This makes it as easy as possible to find by buyers that might be interested in purchasing a particular vehicle they are searching for.

How do I pay for additional features to upgrade my listing?

Currently our only payment option is via PayPal, hosted by FNB South Africa. All payments are stated and processed in South African Rands.
PayPal lets users pay the way they want by offering many payment options. You could either create a PayPal account, or PayPal South Africa will also accept direct credit card payments including Visa, Master Card, American Express, and many others.

Is it safe to use my credit card?

Yes, all payments are processed by PayPal, a third party well respected payment processor that uses the latest encryption technology to keep your information safe.

What devices can be used to browse the website?

We realize that today’s internet users are increasingly using their mobile devices such as tablets or phones to visit websites therefore, our website has been professionally developed, using the latest technologies, to be responsive to all devices and screen resolutions. changes its appearance and layout based on the size of the screen the website is displayed on to always ensure a user friendly browsing experience.

What internet browser works best with Drive It?

Our website has been tested in all the latest browsers and should work perfectly in all of them. However, for optimal performance we suggest that you use one of the latest versions of Google Chrome or Firefox, as some of the older browsers might not support all the website features. Furthermore, upgrading your web browser is also a good way to maximise your internet security and keep safe online.

I cannot find the car I am looking for. How do I get notified when a car with my search criteria is listed?

Users have the option to subscribe to our ‘Notify Me’ service and get notified once a submission matching their search criteria is published. If a specific vehicle cannot be found while using the search filter, users will automatically be presented with the ‘Notify Me’ box. You’ll need to register for free, to use this service.

Most definitely, we offer fast & efficient email support always within 8 hours but usually a response can be expected within an hour or less. We constantly strive to provide our members with the best possible user experience. If you have any difficulty creating your free listing or with any other website feature, simply e-mail us and we’ll gladly help you out! Unfortunately we do not offer telephonic support.
